IIL’Atelier

Nothing is finished by machine that a hand can finish better.

A skeleton movement removes every surface a watchmaker could hide behind. No dial to cover a rough angle, no caseback to close over a bridge left unpolished underneath. What is cut away is the easy part. What remains has to survive being looked at from every side.

A watchmaker's bench under a single lamp, gold components laid out in order on black velvet.
Bench 4, rue des Chaudronniers.

IVLa Planche Chaque pièce est un chapitre

Every mechanism is an argument about time. Ours is written in three hundred and twelve pieces, and it is meant to be read.

A piece is begun only after a conversation. Write to atelier@veyrand.ch, or ask for an appointment at the bench in Genève.
